Presents

Returns! -  2022, Hosted at The Zoo

"We're back!"

Zoo RSR Satelight gig update.jpg

After a shaky start to 2022, Raising some Roofs Festival is back for a special relaunch show on the 22nd of July at Brisbane's most loved Music Hub The Zoo!

Raising Some Roofs began as a project to create safe space social programming for displaced and disenfranchised members of our community linking through local charity & support organisations present in Meanjin. Our goal is to provide opportunities for organisations and individuals to engage with social events in a safe environment to regain personal agency and find joy within our community through music.

As Such this event series is focused on both empowering our local musicians while also uplifting members of our community who both either have been disenfranchised, and whose mission is to help those who have been disenfranchised. A portion of proceeds from this event, (and future events) will be donated to a nominated local charity organisation and tickets will be made available to both clients and staff of said organisation. We are proud to present this event to you all in support of the "Romero Centre," an amazing organisation that is dedicated to the support and wellbeing of refugees seeking asylum in Australia! We thank you for your tireless work and continued dedication to the wellbeing of those who need it most.

Kicking our upcoming satellite event series, "Raising Some Roofs Festival Presents" is a multi genre foray into some of the best rising and underground music currently present in Meanjin featuring "Pink Matter," " Ozi Jarel," "Bean Magazine," "Lippy Kids," special Speaker Set by "Dancing Water" and a very special after party featuring "8Ball audio" !

We're excited to bring you all a spectacular night of Music, roots, punk, soul and as much dancing as you need to fill your cup! Join us on the 22nd and let's celebrate the return of live music!

P.s. if you contribute to a local support organisation or know individuals who would benefit from this event then please contact us through either Raising Some Roofs or Szephyr Guitars and we would love to include you in this event or future events!

P.P.S. Presale ticket holders for the full event will also receive a merch package on the eve of the event! Package Redeemed by ticket at the merch desk!

Raising Some Roofs
Mini Festival

Post Poned -  2022, Hosted at The Triffid

initial iteration below, second iteration coming soon!

Hey all and welcome to “Raising Some Roofs” day festival!! We’re excited to announce right here, in this event, in this spot that we are now live and launching this initiative to you all!

Put together by Szephyr Guitars in conjunction with Bleached Entertainment, and sponsored by Heaps Normal Beer, we will be hosting this day long festival at The Triffid on Sunday the 16th January, 2022.

We have put this DIY festival together to raise funding for two Brisbane community projects which we will be running in 2022 and to raise additional resource funding for our partnering charities; “Northwest Youth Accommodation Services,” “Open Doors Youth Services,” and “The Romero Centre."

The event will be focused on raising money for two initiatives through ticket sales and merch documenting the event, these initiatives being;

  • raising funding to expand sociocultural programs, events, support and resources for displaced youth across Brisbane who struggle with severe social anxiety

  • Raising funding to continue our joint program “building guitars sustainably,” which is an educational program teaching high school students sustainable material practices while also producing guitars that are then donated to disenfranchised youth who otherwise do not have access to instruments.

The festival will run as a long form “Sunday sesh” utilising both the Triffid’s beer garden and indoor stage featuring a stellar line up of some of South East QLD’s best musicians and a series of speakers and panel discussions throughout the day featuring some of Brisbane’s most innovative creatives, designers and inspiring community members.
